The NFL season has reached the midway point and, as the playoffs quickly approach, many former Gophers are doing everything they can to help their teams push toward the postseason.
Veteran wide receiver Eric Decker enjoyed another spectacular day for the New York Jets. Decker caught six passes for 79 yards and a touchdown in the Jets 28-23 victory over the Jacksonville Jaguars.
Atlanta Falcons defensive tackle Ra'Shede Hageman made his presence felt in the trenches and recorded three tackles. The Falcons lost to the San Francisco 49ers, 17-16.
Return specialist Marcus Sherels returned four punts for 40 yards and a kickoff for 21 yards for the Minnesota Vikings. The Vikings won an overtime thriller against the St. Louis Rams, 21-18.
Former Gopher linebacker Damien Wilson was active for the Dallas Cowboys as they took on the Philadelphia Eagles. He did not record any statistics as the Cowboys fell in overtime, 33-27.
Rookie running back David Cobb was not active this week. He looks to make his NFL debut in the coming weeks.
Former Mackey Award-winning tight end Matt Spaeth was inactive for the Pittsburgh Steelers this week.
Maxx Williams and the Baltimore Ravens had a bye this week.
Former Gopher quarterback and Buffalo Bills tight end Marqueis Gray is on injured reserve with a broken forearm.
