Gophers in the NFL: Week 12

Former Gopher linebacker Damien Wilson and the Dallas Cowboys faced the Carolina Panthers on Thanksgiving Day to kick off week 12 of the NFL season. Wilson did not record any statistics as the Cowboys fell to the Panthers, 33-14.

Punt return specialist Marcus Sherels and the Minnesota Vikings went on the road to face defensive tackle Ra'Shede Hageman and the Atlanta Falcons. Sherels returned three punts for three yards while Hageman recorded one tackle. The Vikings beat the Falcons, 20-10.

Veteran wide receiver Eric Decker enjoyed a fantastic day with the New York Jets against the Miami Dolphins. The Minnesota all-time leading receiver hauled in six catches for 62 yards and a touchdown in the Jets' 38-20 victory over the Dolphins. Decker now has 700 yards and eight touchdowns on the season. He has scored a touchdown in eight different games this season.

Rookie David Cobb of the Tennessee Titans played his second career game against the Oakland Raiders. Cobb ran the ball three times for eight yards as the Titans fell to the Raiders, 24-21.

Mackey Award-winning tight end Matt Spaeth and the Pittsburgh Steelers traveled to Seattle to take on the Seahawks. Spaeth recorded one catch for six yards as the Steelers fell to the Seahawks, 30-39.

Maxx Williams and the Baltimore Ravens won in stunning fashion on Monday Night Football, 33-27. The Ravens blocked a field goal and returned it for a touchdown as time expired. Williams did not record a catch, but did return a kickoff six yards.

Former Gopher quarterback and Bills tight end Marqueis Gray is on injured reserve with a broken forearm.
