Week 13 of NFL action kicked off with many Gophers in games with important playoff implications.

Veteran wide receiver Eric Decker and the New York Jets are battling for the AFC wild card. They played their in-state rival, the New York Giants, Sunday. Decker had an outstanding day, hauling in eight receptions for 108 yards. The game went down to the wire and the Jets prevailed in overtime, 23-20.

Rookie David Cobb enjoyed his best day as a pro with the Tennessee Titans as they played the Jacksonville Jaguars. The former Gopher running back ran the ball 13 times for 40 yards as the Titans beat the Jaguars in an offensive shootout, 42-39.

Punt return specialist Marcus Sherels and the Minnesota Vikings hosted the Seattle Seahawks in a crucial NFC match up. Sherels returned two punts for 24 yards. The Vikings were dominated at home and lost, 38-7.

Ra'Shede Hageman and the Atlanta Falcons visited the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The former Gopher defensive tackle recorded three tackles as the Falcons fell to the Bucs, 23-19.

Former Mackey Award-winning tight end Matt Spaeth was active for the Steelers on Sunday Night Football but did not record any statistics against the Indianapolis Colts. The Steelers flexed their muscles at home and went on to win, 45-10.

Damien Wilson saw action and recorded one solo tackle in the Dallas Cowboys' come-from-behind victory against Washington, 19-16.

Tight end Maxx Williams of the Baltimore Ravens was sidelined with an injury this week.

Former Gopher quarterback and Bills tight end Marqueis Gray is on injured reserve with a broken forearm.
