GAME DAY TID-BITS
• Minnesota continues its road trip on Saturday, making its first trip to Bloomington in two years to face Indiana.
• The Gophers are winners of three straight, including their first Big Ten road victory of the year Thursday at Iowa.
• Indiana is coming off a two-point loss at Maryland on Wednesday night, but has won 10 straight games at home this year.
• Senior Andre Hollins is averaging 21.0 points and 4.9 rebounds in his last seven contests (53.8 FG%, 54.7 3FG%). On Thursday against the Hawkeyes, he posted his seventh 20-point game of the year on 50-percent shooting.
• Over the last five games, senior point guard DeAndre Mathieu has dished 14 assists with just two turnovers, an assist/turnover ratio of +7.0.
• Hollins broke out for 31 points in the win over Rutgers, tying a career-high with seven 3-pointers. It is his second-highest career scoring game (41 vs. Memphis) and the highest in B1G play. He followed it up at Nebraska with his second career double-double (21 pts., 11 reb.) and a game-high 28 points against the Illini.
Hollins is the only Gopher with over 1,500 career points and 300 career assists.
• Minnesota has dropped six of its seven conference losses by five points or fewer. The Gophers last suffered six losses by that margin in the 1983-84 season.
• As of Feb. 13, the Gophers are second in the nation in steals per game (10.8) and fourth in turnover margin (5.5), leading the Big Ten in those categories. Minnesota is tied for 12th in Division I in assists per game (16.6). DeAndre Mathieu is 18th nationally in steals (2.2).
• Mathieu leads the B1G in steals while senior Maurice Walker is third in field goal shooting (.585). Junior Carlos Morris (2.1) and freshman Nate Mason (2.1) are second and third in steals, respectively.. Andre Hollins is 10th in scoring among conference players at 14.8 points per game.
• In Big Ten play, Hollins is averaging a team high 16.1 points per game (B1G: 6th) while Walker is averaging a team-high 7.4 rebounds per game, placing him tied for third in the conference.
