Cameranesi Picks Up WCHA Weekly Award

MINNEAPOLIS Sophomore forward Dani Cameranesi is this week's WCHA Offensive Player of the Week after leading the Gophers with three points in a home sweep over Minnesota Duluth to clinch the WCHA regular season title last weekend. This week's award marks the third honor of the season for the Plymouth, Minn., native.
Cameranesi registered two assists in Friday's 7-1 win before scoring the game-winning goal in Saturday's 2-0 win. She combined for six shots on goal and a plus-three plus/minus rating in the series.
With a career-best 51 points, Cameranesi ranks fourth in the nation in scoring. Her 32 assists are ranked third in the NCAA, and she is tied for third in the nation with six game-winning goals, including her most recent game-winner against the Bulldogs.
Cameranesi ranks second in the WCHA with 39 points, 15 goals, 24 assists and a plus-31 plus/minus rating in 25 league games. She leads the WCHA with 13 power-play points in 25 league games.
Cameranesi and the Gophers (27-2-4, 20-2-4-2 WCHA) wrap up the 2014-15 regular season on the road at Bemidji State (18-13-1, 13-12-1-1 WCHA) this weekend. Puck drop between the Beavers and Gophers is set for 2 p.m. CT Friday and Saturday.
