WCHA First-Round Matchups Set

MINNEAPOLIS - Following the completion of the 2014-15 regular season Sunday, the pairings have been set for the first round of the WCHA playoffs, to be held at the home sites of the top four seeds this weekend. All four series are best-of-three and scheduled for Friday through Sunday.
The regular-season champion Gophers will host eighth-place Minnesota State at Ridder Arena at 7 p.m. Friday, Feb. 27 and 4 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 28. Game three, if necessary, is scheduled for 4 p.m. Sunday, March 1.
WCHA First Round tickets are on sale now through MyGopherSports.com. Prices are $10 for reserved chair back seating and $5 for general admission tickets.
Gopher Women's Hockey Youth VIP pass-holders will be able to use their passes for free admission to the WCHA First Round games. All season ticket holders should have received tickets to this series as part of their season ticket package as well. Because it is a best of three game series, tickets to the third game will only become available if necessary following the completion of game two.
In other WCHA First Round matchups, second-place Wisconsin hosts seventh-place St. Cloud State, third-place North Dakota hosts sixth-place Ohio State and fourth-place Minnesota Duluth hosts fifth-place Bemidji State.
The winners of the four first-round series advance to the 2015 WCHA FINAL FACE-OFF March 7-8 at Ralph Engelstad Arena in Grand Forks, N.D.

The Gophers are the three-time defending WCHA FINAL FACE-OFF champions. The winner of the WCHA FINAL FACE-OFF receives the league's automatic berth into the NCAA tournament.
