NCAA Field to be Announced Sunday

MINNEAPOLIS - The NCAA National Collegiate Women's Ice Hockey Selection Show will air live on NCAA.com at 6 p.m. CT this Sunday. The eight-team tournament field and the quarterfinal round match-ups will be unveiled during the broadcast.
Postseason conference tournament winners from Hockey East, ECAC Hockey, WCHA and College Hockey America earn automatic berths into the NCAA tournament. The remaining four teams are chosen by the NCAA selection committee.
Minnesota looks to secure the program's 13th NCAA tournament appearance since 2001 and eighth consecutive national championship berth. The Gophers are also looking to make their fourth-straight appearance in the national championship game after winning back-to-back NCAA championships in 2012 and 2013 and finishing as runners up in 2014.
The NCAA quarterfinal round is set for March 13-15, and the four winners advance to the 2015 NCAA Women's Frozen Four at Ridder Arena March 20 and 22.
