The University of Minnesota football team will play four prime time games during the 2015 season, starting with its first game of the season against TCU.
The eyes of college football will be on TCF Bank Stadium as the Gophers host TCU at 8 p.m. CT on Thursday, Sept. 3. The game will be broadcast by ESPN and will help kick off the college football season.
Minnesota will also host rival Michigan at 7 p.m. CT on Saturday, Oct. 31, as the two teams will battle for the Little Brown Jug under the lights on Halloween night at TCF Bank Stadium. The game will be broadcast on ABC, ESPN or ESPN2. Minnesota defeated Michigan 30-14 on the road last season to win back the prized Jug. In 2015, the Gophers will look to earn their first home win against the Wolverines since 1977, when Minnesota won 16-0 at Memorial Stadium.
The Gophers will also play two road primetime games in 2015. The first will feature Minnesota at Ohio State on Nov. 7. The game will start at either 6 or 7 p.m. CT and will be shown on ABC, ESPN or ESPN2. Minnesota dropped a 31-24 home decision to the eventual national champions last season.
It was previously announced that Minnesota's Nov. 14 game at Iowa would be played in primetime on BTN, which means that Minnesota will play three straight night games against Michigan (Oct. 31), Ohio State (Nov. 7) at Iowa (No. 14) in 2015.
