Thirteen Gophers Named Academic All-Big Ten

MINNEAPOLIS -- Thirteen Gopher women's hockey players are among the 148 University of Minnesota student-athletes who have earned spring Academic All-Big Ten honors.
Seniors Racheal Bona, Meghan Lorence, Rachel Ramsey, and Shyler Sletta, juniors Hannah Brandt and Maryanne Menefee, and sophomores Dani Cameranesi, Kelsey Cline, Kate Flug, Paige Haley, Sidney Peters, Kate Schipper, and Lee Stecklein have been honored by the Big Ten Conference for their academic achievements.
To be eligible for Academic All-Big Ten selection, student-athletes must be letterwinners in at least their second academic year at their institution and maintain a cumulative grade-point average of 3.0 or higher.
Bona and Ramsey lead the way as three-time Academic All-Big Ten honorees. Brandt and Sletta are both two-time award recipients as well.
Among the 148 spring Academic All-Big Ten honorees are Gophers hailing from nine different spring teams along with the women's hockey team, which the conference includes as an at-large sport.
The Big Ten recognized 1,447 total spring and at-large sport student-athletes. The women's track & field team represented 31 of Minnesota's 148 honorees, while rowing was second with 29 team members on the list.
