The Minnesota Golden Gophers begin the college football season on Sept. 3 at home against TCU. With the season right around the corner, publications are now releasing their preseason All-Big Ten teams.

Phil Steele's College Football preview honors seven Gophers. The Minnesota defense led the way as four Gophers were recognized. Briean Boddy-Calhoun, Theiren Cockran and Eric Murray were all named preseason All-Big Ten Second Team, while De'Vondre Campbell was placed on the third team.

On offense, Minnesota's lone representative was Josh Campion who was named to the preseason All-Big Ten Fourth Team.

Two special team members were also recognized by Phil Steele. Punter Peter Mortell was named to the first team, while kick returner Jalen Myrick was pegged as a fourth-team member. Mortell was also named preseason Fourth Team All-American.

Athlon recently released its All-Big Ten teams as well and the same seven Gophers were honored.
