During the academic year, the Gophers are focused on two things: school and their sport. But when classes are not in session, the Gophers are on the go! Catch up with some of the women's soccer team as they spend their summer on adventures far away from home or living their dreams in their own backyard.

My summer has flown by. The days feel long, but it seems like just yesterday we had our last spring practice. I've been extremely busy this summer, and feel like I am always on the move! Summer school started about five days into my summer, as did kicking off the summer to summer work outs and lifts everyday. For the first portion of my summer, lifting, club soccer, and school pretty much took up all my time. A month into summer, my club team, St. Croix Academy, ventured into the lands of Wisconsin to compete in regionals. It was an extremely hot, and hard fought weekend, coming out with two wins and a loss. Unfortunately we were not able to move on, so we returned home to play in our last ever club soccer game. After regionals is when my life began to slow down. I helped out with some of the Gopher camps, and helped coach some MTA teams in some tournaments and games, which are always a good time.

This summer I was able to do something I hoped to do since I was little, go to the World Cup! My parents, sister, and two friends, traveled across the border to watch the U.S and Sweden play each other. It was an amazing experience that I will never forget. Sydney and I, spent a night and day at Megan's beautiful cabin. I do not think I have ever been so relaxed for an entire day than I was there. I spent the fourth up north at another friends cabin where we laid out, tubed, and played a bunch of different pickup sports!

I am currently out east now, this is where basically all my extended family lives. My family makes the 19 hour drive to Pennsylvania every year to visit my older sister and relatives. Then from Pennsylvania  we travel to Delaware, which is where my grandparents have their beach house. This is where we jet ski, go to the beach, and eat my grandmother's delicious dinners. I do not get to see my extended family often, so taking two weeks out of my summer to visit all of them is one of my favorite parts of summer.
