Open Scrimmage Set for Aug. 23

Minnesota Volleyball fans, get to know your 2015 Golden Gophers as the team is set to host an open scrimmage, Sunday, August 23 at 4:30 p.m., at the Sports Pavilion.
Doors open at 3:30 p.m., followed by the open scrimmage at 4:30 p.m. The scrimmage is free and open to the public.
The Golden Gophers return 10 letter winners from last year, including seven that started last season. Minnesota also adds six newcomers to the list in senior Toni Alugbue, junior Margaret Eggert and freshmen Sophie Beckley, Samantha Seliger Swenson, Taylor Morgan and Kayla Buford.
Minnesota opens the season at the Stanford Invite when it faces Texas A&M on Saturday, August 29 and No. 2 Stanford, August 30 in Palo Alto, Calif. Minnesota's first home action is Sept. 11-12 when it hosts UC Irvine, North Dakota State and UCF for the annual Diet Coke Classic.
