Ten Gophers Invited to USA Hockey Festival

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - USA Hockey announced that 83 players have been invited to the 2015 USA Hockey Women's National Festival, and among the list are a total of 10 Gophers, including both current student-athletes and alumni. The festival will take place Aug. 11-16 at the Olympic Center in Lake Placid, N.Y.
Sophomore Sydney Baldwin, senior Hannah Brandt, junior Dani Cameranesi, senior Milica McMillen, sophomore Kelly Pannek, sophomore Cara Piazza, and junior Lee Stecklein have all been invited to participate in the five-day festival. Among the Gopher alumni who were invited to participate are Megan Bozek, Gigi Marvin and Anne Schleper.
The festival will be used to select the 22-player rosters for the three-games series against Canada from August 19-23 in Lake Placid, N.Y. There will be an under-18 team and 22-and-under team selected.
Stecklein, Bozek, Marvin and Schleper will join the majority of their silver medal-winning 2014 U.S. Olympic teammates at the festival. Overall, the festival roster includes 28 defensemen, 45 forwards and 10 goaltenders.
All practices and scrimmages associated with the 2015 USA Hockey Women's National Festival will be open to the public.
