Minnesota sophomore kicker Ryan Santoso was recognized as one of the three Lou Groza National Collegiate Place Kicker Award "Stars of the Week," announced on Monday. Santoso was joined alongside by Erik Powell of Washington State and Garrett Schwettman of Western Kentucky as the three kickers to be honored.

Santoso drilled three field goals and two extra points to key Minnesota's come-from-behind victory at Colorado State last weekend. The Pace, Fla. native connected on an attempt from 35 yards before notching a 50-yard boot - the second-longest in his career - just before halftime.

After regulation ended with both the Gophers and Rams tied, Santoso kicked the game-winning field goal from 18 yards out to send Minnesota to its first win of the season and end Colorado State's nine-game home winning streak. The sophomore has been clutch when called upon as he is 2-for-2 with five minutes remaining in the fourth quarter and overtime in his career.

Santoso also limited the Colorado State kickoff return game as he tallied four touchbacks in five attempts. He now has 42 touchbacks in 15 career games.
