MINNEAPOLIS - After winning their sixth straight game and remaining undefeated in Big Ten play, the Gophers moved from No. 18 to No. 11 in the NSCAA rankings this week.

Minnesota is currently 9-1-2 overall and 4-0-0 in the Big Ten. With the wins, the Gophers currently sit atop the conference. The last time the Gophers held the top spot in the conference was when they clinched the conference crown back in 2008.

The last time the Gophers were ranked in the NSCAA Top 25 was 10/24/10 (23rd) & Top 15 10/17/10 (15th).

On Tuesday, the Big Ten office announced their weekly awards and Minnesota freshman April Bockin was among the group to receive honors.

Over the weekend, Bockin scored a goal and tallied an assist in the Gophers' 3-1 wins over Purdue and Indiana.

Bockin's unassisted goal on Sunday was the first of the match and her assist on Friday night was the game-winning point.

This is Bockin's second Big Ten Freshman of the Week plaudit of her career and second this month (9/8/15).

This week marks the beginning of a three-game road trip as the Gophers travel to Madison to take on their longtime foe, the Wisconsin Badgers. The following week, Minnesota continues Big Ten play as they take to Nebraska for a 7:05 match against the Cornhuskers on Thurs. Oct. 8 followed by a trip to Iowa City on Sun. Oct. 11 for a noon match-up with the Hawkeyes.
