• The University of Minnesota men's basketball team hosts Indiana Saturday in the first of their two meetings this season, both within a 14-day span.
• Minnesota is seeking its first conference victory of the season after starting B1G play with losses at Ohio State, Penn State and Nebraska and home losses against Michigan State and Northwestern.
• Indiana has won all four of its Big Ten contests, including an 85-60 home win over Ohio State on Sunday.
• Minnesota head coach Richard Pitino is seeking his 50th win at the helm of Golden Gopher Basketball.
• Joey King currently ranks fifth in the nation in free throw shooting at 92.9 percent. King also crossed the 1,000-career point mark on Dec. 5 at Penn State.
• Forward Jordan Murphy was recognized by the Big Ten Conference as its Freshman of the Week on Dec. 7 after he posted two double-doubles (24pts/10rbs vs. Clemson, 19pts/17rbs vs. South Dakota).
• Murphy's 18 rebounds against Chicago State set a new Gophers freshman single-game record, and is the most since Trevor Mbakwe had 18 against North Dakota State on Dec. 11, 2012.
• Senior Joey King was named the Big Ten Co-Player of the Week on Nov. 17 after his performances at home in the opening weekend of the season. .
• The University of Minnesota men's basketball team will welcome three new members starting in 2016, as guard Amir Coffey (Hopkins, Minn./Hopkins HS), forward Eric Curry (Little Rock, Ark./Southwest Christian Academy) and guard/forward Michael Hurt (Rochester, Minn./John Marshall HS) signed their National Letters of Intent on Nov. 11. The trio represents the highest-rated signing class in Pitino's tenure, as the group is ranked 17th nationally by 247Sports and 20th in the nation by Scout.com. Both publications have listed the Gophers recruiting class as the third-highest ranked in the Big Ten.
