• The University of Minnesota men's basketball team hosts Illinois on Saturday evening.
• Minnesota is seeking its first conference victory of the season after starting B1G play with losses at Ohio State, Penn State, Nebraska and Michigan and home losses against Michigan State, Northwestern and Indiana.
• The Illini come to Minneapolis with a 1-5 record in conference, including back-to-back losses to Nebraska and at Indiana.

• Senior Joey King was named the Big Ten Co-Player of the Week on Nov. 17 after his performances at home in the opening weekend of the season. .
• The University of Minnesota men's basketball team will welcome three new members starting in 2016, as guard Amir Coffey (Hopkins, Minn./Hopkins HS), forward Eric Curry (Little Rock, Ark./Southwest Christian Academy) and guard/forward Michael Hurt (Rochester, Minn./John Marshall HS) signed their National Letters of Intent on Nov. 11. The trio represents the highest-rated signing class in Pitino's tenure, as the group is ranked 17th nationally by 247Sports and 20th in the nation by Scout.com. Both publications have listed the Gophers recruiting class as the third-highest ranked in the Big Ten.
