McCutcheon Camps Set for 2016

McCutcheon Volleyball Camp
Gopher Volleyball head coach and​ AVCA and Big Ten Coach of the Year​, Hugh McCutcheon is holding his annual volleyball camps, July 8-17, at the University of Minnesota Fieldhouse. Both overnight and day camps are available through the camp sessions.
A variety of eight camps will be held, starting with the College Prep Camp, July 8-11. This camp is established for girls ages 12-19 and is designed for experienced athletes who aspire to play collegiate volleyball. Two-day Positions Camps follows, also for girls 12-19 on July 12-13. Individuals will focus on the primary techniques at each position. A one-day Skills Camp​s​ ​are​ also available (girls 12-19) on July 14​ and 15​.
July 12-15 will feature a four-day Volley School camp, which is available to girls 6-11 years of age. This is a rudimentary level camp focusing on learning and training the core skills (serving, passing, setting and hitting). Volley School will work on one core skill each day, and incorporate volleyball games to help ingrain the skills learned.
The Get Set Team Camp and Coaches Clinic (July 1​6​-1​7​) is geared towards Varsity and Junior Varsity Teams as they prepare for their high school training competition season. The camp is two days with a guarantee of four competitive matches, competitive wash drills and basic skills instruction for each program.
Last year, a total of ​875​ campers visited the University of Minnesota Field House. With up to 1​5​ sport courts and net systems, the Field House accommodates all campers in one location. Overnight campers in our College Prep Camp and our Team Camps will stay in ​Frontier​ Residence Hall on the Super Block in the heart of the U of M campus.
