No. 15 Minnesota women's soccer is back on the road after two weeks at home. This week's games include Michigan State (Oct. 13) and Michigan (Oct. 16). Kickoff times against the Spartans and Wolverines are slated for 3:00 p.m. CT and 11 a.m. CT, respectivley. Sunday's match against Michigan will be broadcast live on the Big Ten Network.

SCOUTING THE SPARTANS
Michigan State (5-8-1, 2-5-0) is coming off losses to Northwestern and Illinois. Spartans Marisa Oleksiak and Hannah Jones lead the team with four goals a piece. Minnesota dropped a home contest to Michigan State last year in a 1-0 decision. The Spartans and Gophers are currently tied in the series with an all-time record of 12-12-1.

ALL ABOUT MICHIGAN
No. 25 Michigan enters the weekend with a record of 9-3-1 (5-2-0). The Wolverines are coming off a weekend of losses to Illinois and Northwestern. Reilly Martin leads Michigan with six goals and six assists on the season. Last season, the Gophers/Wolverines game resulted in a 0-0 draw in St. Paul, Minn. Minnesota leads the all-time series between the two teams with a record of 13-9-3.

IN THE RANKS
Minnesota is currently ranked No. 15 among Division I programs. The Gophers have been ranked for eight-straight weeks this season, and are currently the highest ranked program in the conference. Rankings are determined by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA).

LAST TIME OUT
The Gophers are coming off a weekend sweep after picking up 3-0 shutouts against both Iowa (Oct. 6) and Nebraska (Oct. 9). Co-captians Simone Kolander and Josee Stiever each notched two goals and one assist this week. Kellie McGahn and Julianna Gernes also recorded goals.

HOBBS BREAKS PROGRAM RECORD
Senior goalkeeper Tarah Hobbs broke the program record for career shutouts after the Gophers' 3-0 win over Iowa (Oct. 6) with 28. Hobbs went on to shutout the Cornhuskers, improving her record with 29 shutouts.

GOLDEN NOTES
- The Gophers are currently tied for first in the Big Ten rankings with Northwestern (12-1-1, 5-1-1).
- Minnesota currently leads the Big Ten in points (99), goals (34), goals per game (2.27), assists (31) and assists per game (2.07).
- Kolander leads the Big Ten in points (27), points per game (1.80), goals (11), and goals per game (.73).
- Hobbs has recorded five shutouts in conference play (Ohio State, Indiana, Purdue, Iowa, Nebraska).
- Minnesota has outscored their opponents 34-9 this season, including a 15-2 edge in conference play.
- Three Gophers have five goals or more so far this season: Kolander (11), Stiever (7), Bockin (7).
- Seniors Beal, Hobbs, Kolander and Stiever will graduate early this December in hopes of playing professional soccer.
