Junior receiver Eric Carter talks about his skills in FIFA, favorite music, breaks down the best hair on the team and more in today's Gopher Talk.
Gopher Sports: What do you like to do outside of football?
Eric Carter: I play a lot of FIFA. If anybody wants to play me I'll give them a whooping. I'll get the win.
GS: Who is the teammate that gives you the most trouble in FIFA?
EC: Ace Rodgers. That's my arch nemesis there. It's hard to beat Ace. We actually have a record in our house. It's about .500 each way.
GS: What's your favorite food?
EC: Since I don't eat a lot of sea food anymore, I really miss Alaskan snow crab. I'm a big sea food fan. Up here, you can catch me at Joe's Crab Shack on all you can eat Wednesdays every now and then. I don't do it too much during the season. I don't want to gain all that weight.
GS: If you were stuck on an island for the rest of your life and you could only watch one movie, what would it be?
EC: I would watch Hardball. It's a great movie. It has a lot of great moments, funny moments. It just has a good plot. Sometimes it gets me a little sad but it's a great movie.
GS: If you were stranded on a desert island and could only bring one teammate, who would it be?
EC: I would bring Brian Smith. He always keeps me entertained. I find myself laughing at him for no reason, he finds himself laughing at me. We are just real close. We are also roommates. I'm just used to being around him.
GS: If you could have any actor play you in a movie who would it be and why?
EC: I would say Chris Tucker. He's a funny guy. A couple of guys have joked around with me before and said I look like him. I don't believe it.
GS: What's your favorite kind of music?
EC: Hip-Hop. I'm a big Lil Uzi Vert fan and a big Lil Yachty fan. Lil Uzi and Future are my favorite artists right now and 1KPG, he's an underground guy.
GS: If you could catch a pass from any NFL QB, who would it be and why?
EC: If I could catch a pass from anybody it would have to be the best lefty to ever do it in Michael Vick. I would have to catch one from him because growing up he was one of my favorite players to watch. I had a little Michael Vick jersey. I was just a big fan of him. Very entertaining football player.
GS: Are you a NFL fan?
EC: Yeah, I'm a Tampa Bay fan. It's kind of hard to be a Bucs fan, we haven't won a Super Bowl since 2003. People always talk trash to me about the Bucs. I really can't talk yet, but I'm a believer in Jameis Winston. He's going to bring us back to the top.
GS: What would you do if you won the lottery?
EC: I would give back to my community back home. There's a lot of impoverished neighborhoods. I would give a whole bunch of it to the people back home and then I would just do things to make sure my family is safe and well off.
GS: What do you do when you just need to relax?
EC: I like to go on adventures. We've been to all types of places around the Twin Cities. We've been to Mendota Heights, Minnehaha Falls, we like to go on adventures just to keep our minds fresh and try new things. I really enjoyed Minnehaha Falls. Next time we are going to get some of those little bikes. We didn't have time before because we had to get back for practice.
GS: Who on the team has the best hair?
EC: It's really tough with all the O-linemen because they have the flow going. But I'm going to go with a skill guy. Alex Starks has some real nice, wavy, natural hair.
GS: Who's your favorite superhero?
EC: I like Flash. He's a very fast guy. Just somebody I liked growing up. When I used to play with my toys, I would make him the fastest toy I had.
GS: What's one thing you can't live without?
EC: I can't live without Netflix. I just finished Narcos and they had a show called Limitless. Sometimes I spend days (watching Netflix) when I have nothing to do and I've worked out and put myself through football and school.
