GOPHERS HOST HOOSIERS WEDNESDAY
The University of Minnesota is home for its third-straight match when Indiana comes to town, tomorrow, at 7 p.m.

INDIANA MATCH PROMOTIONS
Wednesday night's match marks sophomore setter Samantha Seliger-Swenson's hometown Community Day. Fans within Seliger-Swenson's hometown (Minnetonka, Minn.) can receive a ticket for a discounted rate. For more information, contact fans@gopherfanrelations.com. The Indiana match is also Social Media Day as the Gophers will be handing out giveaways on their social channels throughout the match.
HOME, SWEET HOME
Minnesota is 8-0 at home this season, including five wins against Big Ten opponents. Minnesota also went 15-0 last year at the Sports Pavilion.
ABOUT INDIANA
Indiana enters the Minnesota match with a 15-10 overall record and a 4-8 mark within Big Ten play. The Hoosiers are coming off a four-set win over No. 13 Michigan last Saturday, 25-14,21-25,25-16,25-23. Indiana is led by Allison Hammond, who has 283 of the team's 1,118 kills as she averages 3.68 per set. Big Ten Freshman of the Week Kendall Beerman has 211 kills, while Jazzmine McDonald and Elizabeth Asdell have 154 and 153, respectively. Defensive specialist leads Indiana with 32 aces.
ALL-TIME SERIES AND LAST TIME
The Golden Gophers are 53-16 all time against the Indiana Hoosiers, dating back to 1975. Minnesota defeated Indiana on Sept. 30 in three sets, 25-17, 25-15, 25-17. Minnesota hit .392 in the match, while it held Indiana to just a .159 efficiency. The Gophers tied a season-best seven aces in the win. Minnesota also held a 28-18 dig advantage and out-blocked the Hoosiers, 8-1.
LOHMAN RECEIVES B1G LAURELS
Molly Lohman has been awarded the Big Ten Defensive Player of the Week after two stellar performances against Rutgers and No. 10 Penn State last weekend. It is Lohman's first-ever Big Ten award during her three-year Gopher tenure. Lohman had 17 kills and tied a team-best 11 blocks in wins over the Scarlet Knights and Nittany Lions. She averaged 2.83 kills per set and 1.83 blocks per set in the pair of sweeps. Against Rutgers, Lohman had nine kills in just 13 attempts to hit .692. She followed with a seven-block, eight kill performance against ranked Penn State. As the Gophers established 12 blocks in just three sets, Lohman had seven alone and established eight kills in just nine attempts for an .889 hitting clip.
ON THE DOCKET
After the Indiana match, Minnesota is on the road for the next three as it travels to Maryland Sunday and Illinois and Northwestern Nov. 12-13. Sunday's match is set for 3 p.m. CT and will be streamed on BTN Plus.
GOPHERS IN NCAA RANKINGS
Setter Samantha Seliger-Swenson ranks third nationally in assists per set and first in the Big Ten. The sophomore averages 11.74 aps, ranking second behind Florida's Allie Monserez (12.28) and Arkansas State's Mallory Warrington (11.89). Sarah Wilhite averages 4.14 kills per set, which ranks 39th in the NCAA. She ranks second in the Big Ten, trailing only Penn State's Simone Lee (4.28). Minnesota's blocking ranks second in the Big Ten and 14th nationally as the Gophers average 2.86 per set. Individually, Molly Lohman ranks third in the Big Ten and 18th nationally.
GOPHERS RANKED FOURTH IN RPI
Minnesota is ranked No. 4 in the NCAA's RPI, which is updated each Monday throughout the remainder of the season. In the top 25 alone, Minnesota has or will face 10 teams in the top 25 of the RPI: Nebraska (1), Wisconsin (2), San Diego (5), Stanford (9), Michigan (11), Michigan State (12), North Carolina (13), Purdue (17), Penn State (24) and Ohio State (25).
GOPHERS RANKED SECOND IN RECENT AVCA POLL
After a pair of sweeps last weekend and a Texas loss to Kansas, Minnesota moved up one spot from No. 3 last week to No. 2 in the recent American Volleyball Coaches' Association poll. The Gophers have or will face 10 teams ranked in the top 25, including six Big Ten opponents.
