Wagner Named to Naismith Watch List

Carlie Wagner has been named to the 2017 Naismith Trophy Watch List. The junior guard is one of nine Big Ten players among the 50 in consideration.
Wagner currently ranks third in the Big Ten in scoring with an average of 21.2 points per game. She has made a team-high 20 3-pointers and added 5.8 rebounds per game. Wagner is in the midst of a 40-game streak of games scoring 10 or more points.
A native of New Richland, Minn., Wagner is Minnesota's top returning player from last year. She earned All-Big Ten Second Team acclaim as a sophomore while combing with 2016 Naismith semifinalist Rachel Banham to form the nation's top-scoring duo. Wagner averaged 18.9 points, 5.2 rebounds and 2.6 assists per game last season.
On the Gophers' career list, Wagner ranks 17th in scoring (1,131), eighth in career average (15.9), seventh in 3-pointers (144) and fifth in games in double figures (61).
