Minnesota Picks Up Four Wins at KH Invite

Chapel Hill, N.C. - The University of Minnesota collected four doubles victories Friday at the Kitty Harrison Invite at Duke.
Doubles
Cammy Frei and Caroline Ryba once again teamed up but fell 8-5 to a pair from Duke then fell again 8-5 to Texas Tech.
Maja Vujic and Barbara Mancera teamed up for the first time this fall and defeated a duo from Duke 8-4.
Familiar doubles partners, Mehvish Safdar and Caitlyn Merzbacher fell in their first match 8-6 and in their second match 8-3.
Annemarie Emme teamed up with Camila Vargas Gomez for an 8-2 victory over Virginia and a 8-6 win over Texas Tech.
Freshman Karyna Bihel and Kalyssa Hall were paired together and defeated a duo from Virginia 8-5.
Singles
The Gophers took on athletes from the University of Virginia on day one of singles.
Ryba fell in her first singles match of the weekend 6-4, 6-4 while Safdar also fell 6-3, 6-1. Vargas Gomez lost a close match 7-6 (3), 7-6(5).
Emme fell to Meghan Kelley 6-1, 6-4 and Vujic was defeated by Camille Favero 6-1, 6-2. Mancera lost 6-2, 4-6, 1-0(5) while Frei also fell 6-2, 6-1 to Hunter Blesser.
Hall was defeated by Erica Sosi 5-7, 6-3, 1-0(9) and Merzbacher fell 8-4 in an extra match versus Blesser.
