GAME DAY TID-BITS
• The University of Minnesota men's basketball team closes out its home schedule on Wednesday night hosting rival Wisconsin, their lone meeting this season.
• Wednesday is Senior Night at the Barn, and senior Joey King along with manager Nate Schwab will be recognized in a pre-game ceremony that will begin at approximately 7:45 p.m.
• Minnesota is coming off an 84-61 loss at Illinois on Sunday, coming after two straight victories at home.
• Wisconsin has won 10 of its last 11 games after starting conference play 1-4, including a 68-57 victory over Michigan on Sunday in Madison.
• On Tuesday, head coach Richard Pitino announced the suspension of guards Kevin Dorsey, Nate Mason and Dupree McBrayer for the duration of the season for a violation of team rules.
• The Feb. 23 22-point win over the Scarlet Knights was the highest margin of victory in a Big Ten game under head coach Richard Pitino, and the most since a 73-44 win over Penn State on Mar. 2, 2013.
• With the victory over Maryland, the Gophers have earned top-10 wins in seven of the last eight seasons.
• The Gophers saw five players reach double figures on Feb. 23 against Rutgers for the fourth time this season and the second time in Big Ten play (Omaha, South Dakota, Michigan).
• Forward Jordan Murphy was recognized by the Big Ten Conference as its Freshman of the Week on Feb. 22, his second such honor (Dec. 7). Murphy posted his seventh double-double of the year (17 pts/11rbs) in the win over then-No. 6 Maryland. He has since matched the feat in the last two games.
• Murphy's 18 rebounds against Chicago State set a new Gophers freshman single-game record, and is the most since Trevor Mbakwe had 18 against North Dakota State on Dec. 11, 2012.
• The University of Minnesota men's basketball team will welcome three new members starting in 2016, as guard Amir Coffey (Hopkins, Minn./Hopkins HS), forward Eric Curry (Little Rock, Ark./Southwest Christian Academy) and guard/forward Michael Hurt (Rochester, Minn./John Marshall HS) signed their National Letters of Intent on Nov. 11. The trio represents the highest-rated signing class in Pitino's tenure, as the group is ranked 17th nationally by 247Sports and 20th in the nation by Scout.com. Both publications have listed the Gophers recruiting class as the third-highest ranked in the Big Ten.
