Big Ten Player of the Year Rachel Banham is in the running for more awards on the national level. She is a finalist for the John R. Wooden Award and a semifinalist for the Naismith Trophy.

Banham ranks second in the nation in scoring, averaging 27.6 points per game through 30 games this season. She poured in 30.5 points per game in Big Ten play, which included an NCAA-record 60 points and another game with 52. The Gophers' scoring leader also pulls down a team-high 6.0 rebounds per game and averages 4.0 assists.

Banham has reached numerous career milestones during her senior year, most recently reaching the 3,000-point mark on Thursday. She is the Big Ten's career record holder with 3,008 total points. Banham ranks 10th all-time on the NCAA Division I women's scoring list.

Coach Marlene Stollings and her staff have had national award finalists in both of their years at Minnesota, as Amanda Zahui B. was a finalist for the Wooden Award, Naismith Trophy and Wade Trophy last year.

The 10-player Naismith Trophy list will narrow to four finalists on March 18. The winner will be announced on April 4. The Wooden Award winner and five-player All-America team will be selected from the list of 15 and announced at the Final Four.
