GAME DAY TID-BITS
• The University of Minnesota men's basketball team wraps up the 2015-16 regular season at Rutgers Saturday.
• This is the Gophers' first trip to Rutgers, who is in their second season as a Big Ten Conference member.
• The Gophers will be without senior forward Joey King, who suffered a right foot fracture on Wednesday against Wisconsin.
• Minnesota is coming off a pair of 13-point defeats following two straight wins, including an 83-61 decision over the Scarlet Knights on Feb. 23.
• On Tuesday, head coach Richard Pitino announced the suspension of guards Kevin Dorsey, Nate Mason and Dupree McBrayer for the duration of the season for a violation of team rules.
• The Gophers will have just nine available players for the third-straight game, including three walk-ons.
• Rutgers is in search of its first B1G win of the season, most recently falling 97-66 to Michigan State on Wednesday.
• By virtue of the Scarlet Knights' loss to MSU on Wednesday, Minnesota is locked into the No. 13 seed in next week's Big Ten Tournament, and will face the 12-seed at 3:30 p.m. CT on Wednesday in Indianapolis. Rutgers will be the 14-seed and play the 11-seed in the game immediately following in the BTT first round.
• The Feb. 23 22-point win over the Scarlet Knights was the highest margin of victory in a Big Ten game under head coach Richard Pitino, and the most since a 73-44 win over Penn State on Mar. 2, 2013.
• With the victory over Maryland, the Gophers have earned top-10 wins in seven of the last eight seasons.
• The Gophers saw five players reach double figures on Feb. 23 against Rutgers for the fourth time this season and the second time in Big Ten play (Omaha, South Dakota, Michigan).
• Forward Jordan Murphy was recognized by the Big Ten Conference as its Freshman of the Week on Feb. 22, his second such honor (Dec. 7). Murphy posted his seventh double-double of the year (17 pts/11rbs) in the win over then-No. 6 Maryland. He has nine double-doubles on the season.
• Murphy's 18 rebounds against Chicago State set a new Gophers freshman single-game record, and is the most since Trevor Mbakwe had 18 against North Dakota State on Dec. 11, 2012.
