The 2016 NFL Draft will be held April 28-30 and some University of Minnesota Golden Gophers should expect to hear their names called. One of them is defensive back Briean Boddy-Calhoun.
Boddy-Calhoun spent four years in Minneapolis and played in 39 games. He played in 13 games in 2012 and 2014, while he saw action in 11 games in 2015. He was limited to only two games in 2013 as he suffered a season-ending knee injury in the second game of the season. He finished his career with 113 tackles, which included 89 solo stops. Boddy-Calhoun also snagged 10 career interceptions, which ranks tied for sixth all-time in program history. He returned two interceptions for touchdowns.
The Wilmington, Del., native made 48 tackles in 11 games last season as he was named All-Big Ten Third Team by the media and All-Big Ten Honorable Mention by the coaches. The 5-11, 190-pound corner also added four interceptions, 1.5 tackles-for-loss and eight pass breakups as a senior.
The NFL Draft will be held at Auditorium Theatre in Chicago, Ill., and will be broadcast on ESPN and NFL Network.
