The Gopher Volleyball team finished out the 2016 spring season with a scrimmage against North Dakota State on Saturday, April 30, 2016. The two teams played five sets with Minnesota winning 4-1.
It was a banner weekend at the Sports Pavilion with jam packed events on Friday and Saturday. The Gophers held an open team practice on Friday, April 29, which included locker room tours. The Gophers also signed autographs and held a coaching clinic after the practice.
On Saturday, Minnesota and North Dakota State competed in an open combined practice from 11-12:45 on the Pavilion court. The Gophers and Bison then competed in five sets starting at 3:30 p.m. Minnesota won, 25-7, 25-11, 25-6, 25-13 and fell in the fifth set, 9-15.
Following the Gopher scrimmage, Minnesota honored its 2015 banner year. The Gophers, who won the 2015 Big Ten Championship, also made its first trek to the Final Four since 2009. All fans in attendance received a commemorative banner and had a chance to go through the locker room tour during the scrimmage.
