Gophers Will Host FSU for ACC/B1G Challenge

The Golden Gophers will face Florida State in the 2016 ACC/Big Ten Women's Basketball Challenge. The game is set for Wednesday, Nov. 30 at Williams Arena. Game time will be announced at a later date. The last time Minnesota hosted the challenge was during the 2013-14 season.

The Gophers broke several program scoring records last season including finishing the season with 2,676 points and 986 field goals. The team had a Big Ten-best 292 3-pointers breaking the program record set the previous season. Minnesota returns All-Big Ten Second Team selection Carlie Wagner, who scored her 1,000th career point last season.

Florida State completed the 2015-16 season with a 25-8 record, finishing 12th in the final USA Today Coaches Poll. The Seminoles advanced to the NCAA Sweet 16 for the second consecutive season. Aside from returning much of its core team, Florida State also has espnW's fourth-ranked recruiting class in the country.

This will be the second meeting between Minnesota and Florida State. The first time these teams met was in 2011-12 with the Seminoles taking a 68-56 victory over the Gophers.

The Gophers are 4-5 overall in the ACC/Big Ten Challenge, which includes a 3-1 record at Williams Arena.
