Gophersports.com: When did you get into volleyball?
Regan Pittman: I was not interested in volleyball till eighth grade. I actually used to hate it. During that time, I was more interested in basketball because it was more of a contact sport.
GS: What has been your favorite volleyball memory so far?
RP: Getting to see my grandparents overjoyed because I was competing for a world U-18 championship In Peru.
GS: You played in the Under-Armour All-America game. Talk about that experience and even playing with some of your fellow freshmen teammates.
RP: Playing with my future Gophers was amazing. I used to always go against them but for once, I got to play with them. The level of play was incredible, but the experience with even better.
GS: What drew you to Minnesota and what ultimately led you to join Gopher Volleyball?
RP: The level of play coach Hugh (McCutcheon) demanded from his players and how well they communicate with each other really stood out to me. I really also enjoyed having the campus close to downtown Minneapolis.
GS: Any idea of what you'd like to major in academically?
RP: At this point I am undecided, but I am interested in Fashion and design. For my prom this year, I made my own formal dress.
GS: What are you most excited for in the 2016 season?
RP: I'm interested in learning how everyone plays together as good teammates. Watching from a fan perspective, the team seems to have great chemistry. I am excited to be a part of a team that has the talent to make Gopher history.
