2016-17 Big Ten Opponents Announced

The Big Ten has released its 2017 matchups for men’s and women’s basketball. The men will retain an 18-game league schedule, while the women will move to a 16-game slate. Dates and times for both schedules will be released at a later date.
Men’s Basketball
The Gophers will play Maryland, Michigan State, Ohio State, Penn State and Wisconsin both at home and on the road. Minnesota will host Indiana, Iowa, Michigan and Nebraska. The Gophers will face Illinois, Northwestern, Purdue and Rutgers on the road only.
The 2017 Big Ten Men’s Basketball Tournament will take place March 8-12 in Washington, D.C.
Women’s Basketball
Minnesota’s home-and-home matchups will be against Maryland, Ohio State and Michigan State. The Maroon and Gold’s home-only opponents are Illinois, Northwestern, Purdue, Rutgers and Wisconsin. The Gophers will take to the road for game against Indiana, Iowa, Michigan, Nebraska and Penn State.
The 2017 Big Ten Women’s Basketball Tournament will take place March 1-5 in Indianapolis.
