Former University of Minnesota men's basketball player Kris Humphries recently re-upped with the NBA's Atlanta Hawks, the team announced late last week.

Humphries, a 12-year NBA veteran following a standout 2003-04 campaign in Maroon and Gold, saw time in 21 games for the Hawks last season averaging 6.4 points and 3.4 rebounds in 14.0 minutes (.465 FG%), after signing as a free agent on Mar. 1. He landed in Georgia following stops in Washington and Phoenix to start the year, combining to average 6.5 points and 4.1 rebounds in 15.8 minutes per game during 53 appearances, including 17 starts.

The Minnetonka, Minn., native has amassed averages of 6.8 points and 5.5 rebounds in 18.2 minutes per game (46.6 percent field goal shooting) in 744 career games, 199 as a starter. He has been a member of eight NBA teams during his career, which began as the 14th overall pick in the 2004 NBA Draft by the Utah Jazz.

Humphries averaged a double-double of 21.7 points and 10.1 rebounds during his season with the Gophers, in which he was selected to the All-Big Ten first team and All-Freshman Team after leading the conference in scoring.
