MINNEAPOLIS
- Gophers Lindsay Agnew and Sarah Potomak have been selected to represent their country as part of Canada's National Women's Development Team in a three-game series against the United States this week, Hockey Canada announced Sunday afternoon.

Canada's National Women's Development Team roster includes three goaltenders, seven defensemen and 13 forwards, and the team was chosen following selection camps at the Hockey Canada National Teams' Summer Showcase last week.

Agnew is one of three players on Canada's roster who won a silver medal with Canada's National Women's Under-18 Team at the 2016 IIHF U18 Women's World Championship in St. Catharines, Ont. Meanwhile, Potomak took home silver with Canada's National Women's Team at the 2015 Four Nations Cup.

In total, eight Gophers will take the ice this week as Agnew and Potomak face off against Gopher teammates Sydney Baldwin, Patti Marshall, Kelly Pannek, Cara Piazza, Taylor Williamson, and Alex Woken, who were chosen to represent the U.S.

Gophers assistant coach Nadine Muzerall is serving as an assistant coach for Canada's National Women's Development Team, and associate head coach Joel Johnson is head coach of the U.S. Under-18 Team as well.

The three-game series between Canada and the U.S. is set for Wednesday through Saturday at Canada Olympic Park in Calgary, Alberta. Game one is scheduled for 8:30 p.m. CT Wednesday.
