Three Gophers Tally Points in U-22 Game Two

MINNEAPOLIS - Golden Gophers Sarah Potomak, Alex Woken, and Kelly Pannek made their way onto the score sheet in game two of the Under-22 Series as Canada's National Women's Development Team won 4-3 over the U.S. Women's Under-22 Select Team at Canada Olympic Park in Calgary, Alberta, Friday evening.

Potomak was one of four players to record a two-point game with one goal and one assist for Canada. Meanwhile, Woken scored for the U.S., and Pannek added an assist for the Red, White, and Blue.

Potomak scored Canada's first goal, tying the game at 1-1 at the 5:26 mark of the first period. She then assisted Canada's go-ahead goal less than three minutes later as Canada took a 2-1 lead into the first intermission.

The second period saw Pannek and Woken help the U.S. tie the game at 3-3. Pannek set up Gracen Hirschy's game-tying goal at 5:09 of the first period before Woken gave the U.S. the lead at 9:08 of the middle frame. Canada tied the game in the final minute of the period to head into the third in a 3-3 tie.

Canada then broke a 3-3 tie midway through the third period to secure a 4-3 win and two-game lead in the Under-22 Series after winning game one, 2-1, Wednesday night.

The third and final game of the series is set for 5 p.m. CT Saturday.
