GOPHERS SET FOR PUERTO RICO TOURNEY
The University of Minnesota is back in action this weekend when it travels to San Juan, Puerto Rico, to compete in the Puerto Rico Clásico, Sept. 2-3. The Gophers face Texas A&M on Friday and Florida State, Saturday at the Ruben Rodriguez Coliseo.

HOMECOMING FOR ROSADO
Minnesota's Dalianliz Rosado will be competing in front of her hometown crowd this weekend. As a part of the six-team tournament, Rosado is the only Puerto Rican player to compete at this tournament. Hailing from Morovis, Puerto Rico, Rosado is a junior libero for the Gophers.

ALL TIME SERIES AND LAST TIME
Minnesota opened the 2015 season against Texas A&M and lost to the Aggies in five sets. All-time, Minnesota is just 1-6 against TAMU, dating back to 1978.
Minnesota last faced Florida State in 2009 when the Gophers defeated FSU in the NCAA Regional Final at the Sports Pavilion. All-time, Minnesota is 9-5 against FSU, dating back to 1979.

ABOUT TEXAS A&M
Texas A&M opened the season at the North Texas Challenge last weekend and went 2-1. After a win against Nevada, the Aggies fell to Ohio State in five, but rebounded with a four-set win over host North Texas. Kiara McGee led all attackers with 47 kills, averaged 3.92 kills per set and a team-high four aces. Jazzmin Babers followed with 31 and Kaitlyn Blake added 30. As a team, TAMU hit .277, averaged 3.17 blocks per set and 10.67 digs per set. The Aggies are coming off a strong 2015 season after winning the Southeastern Conference (SEC) and advanced to the Second Round of the NCAA Tournament.

ABOUT FLORIDA STATE
Florida State opened 2016 with a road match at UCF last week. FSU defeated UCF, 25-23, 25-23, 25-13. Mara Green led FSU with 10 kills, followed by Katie Horton with eight and Melanie Keil with seven. As a team, Florida State hit .234, had 19 blocks and 41 digs. Horton and Milica Kubura were selected Preseason All-ACC this season. Florida State finished second in the ACC in 2015 and advanced to the Second Round of the NCAA Tournament.

HART OPENS COLLEGE CAREER
One of four Gopher freshmen saw action in the opening weekend of play. Alexis Hart started in both matches for the Gophers and 22 kills. Against San Diego, Hart hit .462 to kick off her Gopher career. Hailing from Independence, Mo., Hart also had two aces and three block assists.
