Media Day Set for Sept. 20

MINNEAPOLIS -- The back-to-back defending national champion University of Minnesota women's hockey team will hold its annual preseason media day on Tuesday, Sept. 20. Head coach Brad Frost and captains Lee Stecklein, Dani Cameranesi, and Kate Schipper will preview the 2016-17 season.
The press conference will begin at 1:30 p.m. in the Ridder Arena Club Room. Frost and the captains will speak to the media and take questions.
Additional players will be available after the press conference and before the team's practice, which begins at 2:45 p.m. Practice will be open to the media. Media should contact Mandy Hansen to request specific player availability.

The Gophers' preseason media availability also includes the Western Collegiate Hockey Association (WCHA) Coaches' Media Teleconference, scheduled for 11 a.m. CT on Wednesday, Sept. 14.
Minnesota hosts the Minnesota Whitecaps in an exhibition game at Ridder Arena at 6:07 p.m. CT on Friday, Sept. 23. The Gophers then officially opens the 2016-17 season by hosting Lindenwood in a non-conference series at 7:07 p.m. CT on Friday, Sept. 30 and 2:07 p.m. CT on Saturday, Oct. 1.
