There are nine former Minnesota Gophers in the NFL this year and three of them made a head-turning plays this past weekend.

Former Gopher defensive back Marcus Sherels sparked the Minnesota Vikings to victory when he returned a punt 54 yards for a score against the Carolina Panthers. His touchdown cut into the Carolina lead and helped propel Minnesota to a 22-10 road win.

Rookie Eric Murray saw his most action of the season when the Kansas City Chiefs beat the New York Jets 24-3. Murray, who has played in all three games this year, recovered a fumble for the Chiefs. Briean Boddy-Calhoun wasted no time making an impact in his first ever NFL game for the Cleveland Browns. He intercepted Ryan Tannehill of the Miami Dolphins and returned it for a 27-yard touchdown. The pick-six gave the Browns an early 10-7 lead.
