Committed future Gopher Destiny Pitts has been nominated for the 2017 McDonald's All-American Game. The Detroit Country Day High School star will join the University of Minnesota team for the 2017-18 season.

She is the third Gopher signee under Marlene Stollings to be nominated for the McDonald's All-American Game, as Taiye Bello and Gadiva Hubbard were nominated last year.

Pitts signed with the Gophers in the fall as the No. 19-rated guard in the nation in the HoopGurlz rankings. She received four stars from ESPN.

This past December, Pitts scored 50 points in one of her games, and she is a strong candidate for Michigan's Miss Basketball. She earned AP All-State honors and led her team with an average of 16 points per game as a junior. Pitts is a 2015 state champion who also advanced to the state semifinals in 2016.
