Partain Earns Big Ten Accolade

MaKenna Partain earned the first 2017 Big Ten Freshman of the Week accolade, the conference announced Monday.
In her first ever collegiate game Partain helped lead the Maroon and Gold to victory. She went 3-4 with two RBIs including a walk-off single that lifted the Gophers to a 3-2 win over Maryland.

Throughout the rest of the weekend Partain was a steady presence in starting lineup at second base. She hit a team leading .533 average with eight hits, one double, four RBIs and a .600 slugging percentage. She recorded eight putouts and 10 assists in the field.
The Banks, Ore. Native also had quite the fan club watching from back home.
