Gophers Look to Upend No. 24 Mississippi State

Minneapolis, Minn. - The University of Minnesota women's tennis team looks to continue their winning ways Wednesday as they travel to Starkville, Miss. to take on No. 24 Mississippi State.

The Gophers are coming off a two-win weekend after defeating Memphis 4-3 and South Dakota 7-0. Nine different Gophers collected singles match wins and the Maroon and Gold did not drop a doubles match in the two victories.

Camila Vargas Gomez leads Minnesota with a 6-1 dual singles match record while the tandum of Vargas Gomez and Annemarie Emme lead the squad with a 4-1 dual doubles match record.

The match versus the Bulldogs marks a three-match road trip that continues to Milwaukee, Wis. as the Gophers will play Marquette and Milwaukee February 25.

About Mississippi State
The No. 24 Bulldogs are currently 5-1 on the season with their one loss coming against Michigan 4-0. Jasmine Lee is ranked No. 44 by the ITA and boasts a 3-1 dual match record. Lee has teamed up with Lisa Marie Rioux to form the No. 8 doubles pair in the country. The duo are 3-1 this spring and 11-2 overall.
