Minnesota Prepares for Two Midweek Games

Minneapolis, Minn. - Following a three-game sweep, the University of Minnesota returns to U.S. Bank Stadium as they host North Dakota State and Hawaii in two midweek games.
Tuesday's game versus North Dakota State will begin at 6 p.m. while Thursday's game versus Hawaii will begin at 5 p.m.
After splitting a two-game series at UC Irvine, Minnesota swept Seattle University this past weekend for a 4-1 overall record.
Offensively, the Maroon and Gold have been on fire. Six Gophers have a batting average over .400 while three batters already have double digit hits. Overall Minnesota has a .371 batting average, .443 on-base percentage and a .516 slugging percentage with eleven doubles, three triples and 42 RBIs.
Luke Pettersen leads the Gophers with a .765 batting average (13-17) while the team leader in RBIs is tied at seven runs between Toby Hanson and Micah Coffey. Minnesota has hit two homeruns, one by Eduardo Estrada, Jr. and one by Matt Stemper.
Freshman Brett Schulze made his career start this season and picked up the win. He has a 3.00 ERA where he threw 9.0 innings in two appearances. Schulze has only allowed four hits and struck out seven batters while opponents have a .138 batting average against him.
The Gopher bullpen has five pitchers with a sub 3.00 ERA. Senior Tim Shannon has made three appearances with a 2.70 ERA and two strikeouts while Nick Lackney has thrown 4.1 innings of no hit ball. Brian Glowicki has picked up three saves already this season, only allowing one hit and striking out five batters.

The Bison come into the midweek game with a 4-3 record after sweeping Mississippi Valley State to begin the year then being swept by Abilene Christian this past weekend. Mason Pierzchalski leads the team with a .370 batting average while Ben Petersen has two home runs and seven RBIs. Only one NDSU starter has a sub 3.00 ERA (Zach Mayo, 1.00) and Luke Lind leads the team with 11 RBIs. Chris Choles (0-0, 1.50 ERA, 1 ER, 4 K) and Jordan Harms (0-1, 3.00 ERA, 2 ER, 7 K) have six innings each out of the bullpen. Defensively the Bison have committed nine errors in this young season.
About Hawaii
The Rainbow Warriors are 3-4 this year after losing two of the three games versus N.C. State and splitting a four-game series with San Francisco. Josh Rojas leads the team with a .250 batting average while Dustin Demeter has three RBIs. Dominic DeMiero leads the starters with a 1.20 ERA and Brendan Hormung has 15 strikeouts. The Hawaii defense has committed seven errors.
