Gophers In the Polls: March 1

March 1, 2017 Minneapolis, Minn. - Programs from the University of Minnesota are once again standing strong in national polls this week. Tickets for all upcoming home events are available by visiting mygophersports.com.

Women's Hockey- #5

Last Week: Kelly Pannek scored twice and Sarah Potomak tallied two assists to lead the No. 4 Golden Gopher women's hockey team to a 3-2 win over Bemidji State in game three of this weekend's WCHA First Round series. With the win, Minnesota advances to its 18th-straight WCHA Final Face-off next weekend at Ridder Arena.

This Week: With the win, the Gophers join the league's other top three seeds in advancing to next weekend's WCHA Final Face-off, which will be held at Ridder Arena. Top-seeded Wisconsin (29-2-4) faces No. 4 seed North Dakota (16-15-6) in the first semifinal at 2:07 p.m. CT Saturday with the No. 2 seed Gophers taking on No. 3 seed Minnesota Duluth (24-5-5) at 5:07 p.m. CT in semifinal number two.

Men's Hockey - #5

Last Week: Senior captain Justin Kloos put the No. 4 Gopher Hockey program up for good with his sixth game-winning goal of the year as Minnesota topped No. 19 Wisconsin 3-2 on Saturday night to reclaim sole possession of first place in the Big Ten.

This Week: Minnesota continues the Big Ten season next weekend with a pair of games at Michigan.

Men's Gymnastics - #5

Last Week: The University of Minnesota finished third with a score of 405.600 in a quad-meet with the Japanese National Team (425.800), Stanford (421.550) and the Canadian National Team (392.700) on Saturday night at Burnham Pavilion.

This Week: The Golden Gophers will travel to Columbus, Ohio next for the annual Arnold Classic next Saturday, March 4 at 12:30 p.m.

Softball - #10

Last Week: The University of Minnesota Gophers move to 14-0 after a 12-2 victory in five innings over Idaho State Sunday afternoon.

This Week: Minnesota heads to Baton Rouge, La. for their fourth tournament of the season this weekend. They will play Troy, FAU, LSU and Illinois State.

Wrestling - #13

This Week: The Gophers travel to Bloomington, Ind. March 4 and 5 for the Big Ten Championships.

Men's Swimming and Diving - #20

Last Week: Minnesota broke a pair of program records on the final day of the Big Ten Men's Swimming and Diving Championships. The Gophers finished fourth with 879 points in Columbus, Ohio. Indiana won with 1504 and Michigan and Ohio State tied for second with 1382. Minnesota has finished in the top four in all but one of the last 29 conference meets.

This Week: NCAA zone diving will take place in Columbia, Mo. March 6-8.

Receiving Votes: Baseball is receiving votes in the USA Today Coaches' Poll while men's basketball is receiving votes in the Associated Press Rankings.
