Minneapolis, Minn. - The University of Minnesota will begin a four-game homestand as they host South Dakota State Tuesday at Siebert Field with the first pitch scheduled for 6 p.m.

The Maroon and Gold are 21-10 overall and 7-2 in the Big Ten after losing two games of a three-game series to Indiana this past weekend, snapping their 12-game win streak.

The Gophers have a .293 team batting average, tied for second in the Big Ten. The Minnesota offense has also struck out the least amount of times in the conference. Cole McDevitt leads the team with a .383 batting average while Toby Hanson and Micah Coffey lead with 24 RBIs each.

Jordan Kozicky, who was named Big Ten Freshman of the Week this afternoon, is the team leader with a .550 slugging percentage and a .479 on-base percentage. Alex Boxwell now leads the team with five home runs after hitting two lead off home runs this weekend. He also leads the team with seven steals.

The Gopher pitching staff has a 3.98 team ERA, fifth best in the Big Ten. They also have held opponents to a .237 batting average, the second lowest in the conference. Tuesday's starter, Nolan Burchill, is 2-2 this season with a 4.19 ERA and 12 strikeouts. Brian Glowicki leads the team and the conference with 11 saves to go with his 0.47 ERA and 23 strikeouts in 16 appearances.

About South Dakota State
The Jackrabbits are 15-16 this season after dropping both games versus Western Illinois this weekend. SDSU has a .279 team batting average with Nick Smith leading the team with a .346 average. Matt Johnson leads the team with seven home runs and 24 RBIs while Anthony Schneider is 8-10 in stolen bases.

Lefthander Brady Stover is scheduled to start for the Jackrabbits. He is 2-3 with a 3.98 ERA and 33 strikeouts in eight appearances. As a team, SDSU has a 3.94 ERA. Chris Halbur leads the team with five saves and has a 0.45 ERA and 23 strikeouts.
