Minneapolis, Minn.
- The University of Minnesota women's tennis team begins Big Ten Tournament play on Thursday after securing the No. 8 seed. They will face Nebraska, the No. 9 seed, in the first round this Thursday, April 27 at 10 a.m. CT.

This year's tournament will be hosted at the University of Illinois' Atkins Tennis Center through Sunday, April 30. Because Ohio State and Michigan both clinched a share of the Big Ten Regular Season Champions title, they have secured the first and second seeds, respectively.

Tina Kreinis and Caroline Ryba now lead Minnesota with 14 victories in singles dual match play, seven of which were conference wins for each. Ryba is on a five game win streak, including two wins this past weekend.

Camila Vargas Gomez sits at a 21-12 record, slating 13-8 in dual match play. Her record at the No. 6 spot is 8-4.

Doubles play is led by the tandem of Caroline Ryba and Cammy Frei with a dual record of 10-10, followed by the duo of Vargas Gomez and Annemarie Emme slating a 9-6 record.
