Then the Goal Line Club has you covered, as it is hosting its second inaugural Golden Gopher Fishing Classic on June 2-3, 2017. Fans can register by clicking here.
The second-year event will once again be held at Lake Koronis in Paynesville, Minn. and all activities will take place at the Bug-Bee Hive Resort, Lodge & Event Center on the north shore of the lake.
On Friday, June 2, there will be a meet-and-greet tailgate party that will start with a 4 p.m. social hour. Food will be served from 4:30 - 6:30 p.m. A program featuring former Gopher football players will start at 7 p.m. Musical entertaining will follow the program and last until 11 p.m.
On Saturday, June 3, breakfast will begin at 8 a.m. and then anglers will take to the water from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. A luncheon awards ceremony featuring head coach P.J. Fleck will start at 2:15 p.m.
The all-inclusive price for the Golden Gopher Fishing Classic is $100 for adults, $50 for ages 11-20, and free for those 10 and under. The all-inclusive price includes the Friday night Tailgate Party, the Saturday continental breakfast, four-hour fishing contest and the Awards Luncheon program. For an extra $100, fans can also add a member of the Gopher football staff to their boat.
Fans wishing to attend only the Friday tailgate party can do so without having to participate in the Golden Gopher Fishing Classic on Saturday. The Thursday-only tailgate party price is $20 for adults and $10 for ages 11-20 and free for those 10 and under.
There is still limited lodging available at the Paynesville Inn & Suites, the Bug-Bee Hive Resort, Lodge & Retreat Center and Lake Koronis Regional Park. Those attending are encouraged to make reservations in advance.
Participants must provide their own boat. All anglers must have a valid Minnesota fishing license, fishing gear and a life jacket. Four anglers per boat is preferred.
