Alums Win Three Games with Finland

MINNEAPOLIS - University of Minnesota alumnae Noora Raty and Mira Jalosuo competed for Finland in the Swedish Euro Hockey Tour, a four-country tournament in Tranas, Sweden, over the weekend. Finland won the tournament with victories over Russia, Sweden, and Germany.

The tournament marked the return of hockey season for the Finnish national team in preparation for the 2018 Olympic Games.

Raty played in net in two of the three games. She made 22 saves in a 3-1 win over Russia and followed up with a nine-save shutout in game three's 7-0 win over Germany. Jalosuo picked up an assist against Germany as well.

Raty will spend the 2017-18 season playing for Kunlun Red Star, a new addition to the Canadian Women's Hockey League (CWHL) based in Shenzhen, Guangdong, China. Action continues for Team Finland in October at the Finnmark Camp in Mariehamn, Sweden.
