Freshman running back rushed for 157 yards and two touchdowns at Ohio State

Minnesota freshman running back Mohamed Ibrahim was named Big Ten Freshman of the Week after rushing 23 times for a career high 157 yards and two touchdowns (first of his career) at No. 3 Ohio State.

Ibrahim's 157 yards were the most by a freshman running back against Ohio State since Penn State's Saquan Barkley rushed for 194 yards against the Buckeyes in 2015. Ibrahim averaged a staggering 6.8 yards per carry at Ohio State and his longest run of the day was 34 yards.

The Olney, Md., native started his career with 101 yards on nine carries against New Mexico State to become the first Gopher to rush for 100 yards or more in his collegiate debut since Thomas Hamner
piled up 158 yards in a 30-3 win against NE Louisiana (now ULM) in 1996. He then missed the Fresno State and Miami games with an injury, but then rushed 26 times for 95 yards at Maryland.
Ibrahim, who was named Offensive Scout Team Player of the Year in 2017, has rushed 71 times for 415 yards this year.
