Minnesota has limited its last two opponents to 2.75 yards per carry.
Minnesota surrendered 315 rushing yards a few weeks ago at Maryland and the Terrapins averaged 8.5 yards per carry. It was a humbling experience for the Gopher defense, but since that game Minnesota's front seven has turned in two stellar performances against Iowa and Ohio State.
The Gophers limited Iowa to 106 rushing yards and allowed 2.7 yards per carry, while the Buckeyes rushed for only 92 yards and 2.9 yards per carry. In those two games, Minnesota allowed a total of 198 rushing yards on 72 carries for a 2.75 yards per carry average.
