The University of Minnesota announced Thursday, in conjunction with iHeart Media and Learfield's Gopher Sports Properties, the slate of basketball and hockey games to be broadcast on iHeart stations in the Twin Cities area. These include 17 men's basketball games on KFAN 100.3 FM, the flagship station for Gopher athletics.
Fans can tune into KFAN 100.3 FM to catch Gopher men's basketball games starting with the season opener against Nebraska-Omaha on November 6. Other non-conference games that will be carried include the Vancouver Showcase opener against Texas A&M (November 18) and second game against Santa Clara (November 20), the ACC/Big Ten Challenge at Boston College (November 26), and the U.S. Bank Stadium Basketball Classic against Oklahoma State (November 30).
Of the Gophers 20 Big Ten Conference games, 12 will be carried by KFAN 100.3 FM. The remainder of the schedule will be broadcast live on KTLK 1130 AM/103.5 FM. Mike Grimm and former Gopher center Spencer Tollackson will return to call all of the action for the Maroon and Gold live on the airwaves. Gopher Basketball Weekly will also return to KFAN this season, with Grimm and Justin Gaard hosting the hour-long program on Tuesdays from 12:00-1:00 p.m. beginning November 27.
Every Gopher men's hockey game during the 2018-19 campaign will feature radio broadcasts on both KTLK AM 1130 and FM 103.5 with Wally Shaver and Frank Mazzocco calling the action while Gophers great Pat Micheletti will join the broadcast for select games. KTLK AM 1130, along with KFAN Plus (96.7), is also the home of the Bob Motzko Radio Show with Coach Motzko, Shaver and Micheletti breaking down the Gophers every Monday night.
iHeartMedia Minneapolis announced in late August that 96.7 FM has become KFAN Plus and will serve as the home of Minnesota women's basketball, which is about to begin its first season under head coach Lindsay Whalen.
Fans can also listen to all Gopher broadcasts on the iHeart Radio app .
In addition to the sports listed above, Gopher women's hockey games can be heard by visiting GopherSports.com all season long.
