The Gophers have finished fourth six out of the last seven meets and have not finished below sixth place since the 1987-88 season. The Golden Gophers have hoisted the Big Ten Championship trophy in program history with the last time coming during the 2006-07 season in Columbus, Ohio.
HOME SWEET HOME
This week's championship in Minneapolis marks the 12th time the Gophers will host the prestigious event. Minnesota has won the meet three times while acting as the host and finished up as the runner-up three times a well.
MAGNIFICANT MCHUGH
Senior Conner McHugh will swim in his final Big Ten meet this weekend. The senior captain looks to record his first ever Big Ten title in the breaststroke events. McHugh holds the third fastest Big Ten time in the 100 breast (52.84) and 200 breast (1:54.12).
BANK ON BECKER
Junior Bowen Becker has won his last eight combined 50 and 100 free races. Becker earned the last fourth place in both events at last year's Big Ten meet. Holding the fourth fastest Big Ten time in the 50 free (19.49) and sixth in 100 free (43.02) the junior will have to swim past powerhouse Michigan.
GOPHERS IN THE POLLS
In the final TYR/CSCAA Division I Polls, Minnesota finishes as the No. 21 ranked team in the nation. The Gophers started the year at No. 21 prior to only receiving votes the following months.
